Solid waste management in the capital is seeing significant improvement thanks to the GESDA project, implemented with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen the capabilities of the Municipal Sanitation Company (SMA) to sustainably improve waste collection and treatment in Antananarivo.
