The Fanjiry Association has established its presence in Avaradrano. Its national president distributed aid and called for collective mobilization during a ceremony held in Ambohimangakely on October 31.
Elisa Randrianirina, the First Lady, advocates for a development model where everyone contributes. She believes that all stakeholders, from the state to individual citizens, have a role to play. “Many parents struggle daily, many women wish to start businesses, and many young people have projects and courage but lack the means to get started. This is where everyone is essential: the state, local authorities, associations, the private sector, and citizens,” she stated during the official launch ceremony of her Fanjiry association in the Avaradrano district.
She emphasized the necessity of leaving no one behind, stating, “There will be no sustainable development as long as Malagasy people are reduced to begging on the roadsides. There will be no strong society if we do not look out for one another.”
To illustrate her vision, she cited four examples: helping a mother launch an income-generating activity, providing youth with tools and skills, supporting associations that assist vulnerable people, and backing projects chosen by local residents to encourage community-based development.
The association has translated this approach into social actions across various regions. In Avaradrano, it distributed agricultural equipment and inputs, including thousands of shovels, watering cans, sprayers, wheelbarrows, fertilizers, and seeds. It also provided equipment for income-generating activities, such as sewing machines, food processing machinery, fruit juice preparation devices, and bakery equipment.
In other regions, Fanjiry has provided free tutoring in Toamasina, organized circumcision campaigns in Antananarivo, conducted canal cleaning operations, and equipped facilities for orphans and people with disabilities in Toliara, Betroka, Vohipeno, Farafangana, and Ambilobe. “Mutual support, not just a simple donation,” emphasized its founding president.
Fanjiry’s interventions focus on community projects, health, and environmental protection, with special attention to human development, children, women, and mothers.
