EDUCATION – Schools advance dismissal times

Concerns surrounding recent suspected disappearance cases have prompted several schools and universities to revise their schedules. As the baccalaureate exams approach, administrators are striving to maintain study sessions while ensuring the safety of students.

“In preparation for the baccalaureate, we cannot cancel review sessions. However, given the current situation, we also cannot keep students at school for too long. Therefore, we have decided to move the dismissal time earlier,” explains the director of a private institution.

In some institutions, classes are now held only in the morning to allow students to return home before late afternoon.

These measures have been well-received by parents. “We are naturally worried about our children’s safety. The fact that they can return earlier is reassuring, even if it requires reorganizing our home life. The most important thing is that they continue their revisions while staying safe,” says Albertine, a parent.

The FJKM Ravelojaona University (Onifra) has also taken measures. For the past few days, classes have been ending at 3:00 PM until further notice.

These decisions aim to strengthen the security of students, particularly those who live far from campus and have long commutes to get home.
