The Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) is planning to establish a pool of enthusiasts capable of defending our digital space. “We, as Malagasy, must train ourselves to ensure the protection of our own data,” stated Eric Rakotomaniraka, Director General of CIRT, yesterday. In the era of the digital and social media explosion, data security has become an absolute necessity. However, Madagascar currently has only a limited number of cybersecurity experts.
During the symposium on cybersecurity held at the Novotel on June 22 and 23, with the technical support of the Digital Governance Unit (UGD), immersive technical sessions are being offered to provide training in cutting-edge fields and to better understand the current market challenges. Key competitions are planned, and cybersecurity training will be offered to the winners.
The goal of this event is to encourage the development of a local cyber ecosystem and to promote Malagasy talent, while establishing a sustainable culture of cybersecurity in Madagascar. It also aims to popularize cybersecurity issues and organize practical workshops and masterclasses focused on system security in order to raise public awareness.
