The escape of eleven Chinese nationals from the Avaradrano prison has tarnished the image of the current regime, according to Antoine Rajerison, the elected Member of Parliament for the Arivonimamo district. He expressed this view yesterday at Tsimbazaza, on the sidelines of the opening of the second ordinary session of the National Assembly.
According to him, such an event suggests potential irregularities and acts of corruption, to which the State must respond. He is calling on the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic to take firm measures regarding this case, recalling that the fight against corruption in all its forms is among their main challenges.
“I call on the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic to make a firm decision regarding this matter, as the fight against corruption in its various forms is one of the main challenges they have set for themselves. A thorough investigation must be conducted into this case. If we want a truly independent and transparent investigation, all officials involved must resign. The fight against corruption should not be limited to statements made here and there, but requires significant accountability,” declared MP Antoine Rajerison.
