Tovonen Jr has confirmed his status as the favorite at the “Slalom Vovoka,” the third round of the Madagascar Slalom and Dirt Track Hill Climb Championship, held this weekend in Imerintsiatosika.
That makes three. The young driver from the Firaisana Malagasy Mpanao Sport Automobile sy Moto (FMMSAM) club and four-time Madagascar champion, Juan Rakotojohary, known as Tovonen Jr, remains untouchable behind the wheel of his Motul Clio. Driving a Renault Clio Motul M11, Juan secured his third consecutive victory at the “Slalom Vovoka” event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday. Tovonen Jr had previously won the first two rounds in Volomborona and Imerinkasinina in mid-April and early June.
Juan delivered a flawless performance across all three scheduled rounds. The FMMSAM driver set the fastest time on the 1.500 km Track A during his second run (1:49.67), the scratch time on Track B during his second run (1:49.96), and the best time in the Saturday night session during his first run (1:49.77). Juan Rakotojohary emerged as the overall winner across all categories, as well as in the M11 class and the youth category.
Boutax, whose real name is Andy Randriamanga, also from FMMSAM, finished second overall and in the M11 class driving a Peugeot 206. Mickaël Rabesaotra, known as KMickaz from the AM Go Janga club, completed the overall podium in his Peugeot 206 M11. The fourth round of the championship is scheduled for September 26 and 27.
