Passengers at Antananarivo International Airport now have an additional contact point to report potential corruption. An independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) kiosk was officially installed yesterday at Ivato, as part of a partnership with Ravinala Airports. The collaboration between the two institutions has been active for nearly two years, aiming to reduce corruption risks within the airport platform.
The system allows users, passengers, and various airport stakeholders to obtain information, receive awareness training, and, most importantly, report suspicious practices. Reports can be made at the kiosk, by phone using the number displayed on-site, or by scanning QR codes on airport screens. Users can also contact the Anti-Corruption Bureau directly. The identity of those reporting remains confidential.
This initiative follows a diagnostic study conducted at various airports across the country, which identified certain procedural gaps that could facilitate corruption. The goal is to act proactively by reducing these risks and providing users with a more accessible way to report issues.
For Daniel Lefebvre, CEO of Ravinala Airports, the quality of the passenger experience also depends on an environment based on trust and integrity. The commitment alongside the Anti-Corruption Bureau aims to strengthen this dimension at the airports of Antananarivo and Nosy Be.
For his part, Gaby Nestor Razakamanantsoa, Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, emphasizes that the fight against corruption does not rely solely on sanctions. Prevention, awareness, and the participation of all stakeholders are also necessary. “Only by taking collective responsibility can we fight corruption,” he insisted, calling for a unified mobilization.
