The escape of the individual who attacked and shot people at the Anosibe market on Wednesday morning was captured by a surveillance camera. Despite the relatively dark and blurry footage, the perpetrator’s face is reportedly visible. Dressed in dark clothing and wearing a cap, he appears in the images now being used by law enforcement to track him down.
The perpetrator was filmed fleeing with a bag containing money he had just stolen from the man he initially shot. The footage also shows him continuing to fire at those pursuing him as he navigated the narrow alleys of the market during his escape.
It was with grief and tears that many residents received the lifeless body of the man, who was killed in Androndrakely, his place of residence, on Wednesday evening. News that the victim was a local grocer spread quickly through the neighborhood. His neighbors remembered him for his simplicity, friendly demeanor, and sociable character.
Many residents gathered to support the grieving family. The roadsides were still crowded on Thursday as the body was transported to his homeland in Soavinandriana, Itasy region.
