The U18 Ankoay have passed the first round. The Madagascar national U18 basketball team secured their second victory in the group stage of the Afrobasket U18, currently being held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, by defeating Morocco 59-48.
The duo of A’Ranty Rasetrarivony (13 points, 10 assists) and Matazaky Raolompanatena (12 points, 12 rebounds) once again contributed significantly to this valuable win. Thanks to this second victory in as many matches at the Treichville Sports Palace, the Ankoay are guaranteed a spot among the top eight teams in the group stage.
Madagascar is currently in second place in Group B, behind Mali. Both teams remain undefeated after the first two days of competition. This ranking allows Madagascar to secure its ticket to the quarterfinals. The upcoming duel between the two teams will decide the group leader, as Madagascar is set to face Mali this Sunday for the final group match.
