Nosy Sakatia is one of the intervention areas for the GEC BATAN project (Management of Coastal Ecosystems in the Baie d’Ambaro, Tsimipaiky, Ampasindava, and Nosy Be archipelago landscape), funded by France through the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM). Known as the “Orchid Island,” it is a preserved destination located off the west coast.
