BEPC and BEP candidates will benefit from free transportation during the four days of examinations. The government is deploying 84 buses across 21 routes to ensure their transport to the exam centers.
From July 6 to July 9, the government is implementing a special transport arrangement in Antananarivo for candidates of the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) and the Brevet d’études professionnelles (BEP). A total of 84 Foton buses will operate on 21 routes, serving 20 exam centers (5 for BEP and 15 for BEPC). The vehicles will follow their standard routes without any modifications.
This initiative is part of the vision of the President of the Refoundation of the Republic, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina. “This initiative responds to the instructions of the President of the Refoundation of the Republic. It aims to support the population, especially parents with children taking the BEPC and BEP. The goal is to ease the burden on families and offer more peace of mind to candidates who are often anxious about arriving late due to traffic jams,” explained Feno Ralambomanana, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Urban Commune of Antananarivo, during a press briefing held yesterday at Analakely.
Bus departures are scheduled between 5:00 AM and 6:10 AM. Vehicles will be positioned at departure points from 5:00 AM. After the exams, a return service will be provided starting at 5:00 PM toward the various departure points.
“This is a form of assistance, but it is not mandatory,” the PDS specified.
Conditions
The relevant authorities are jointly ensuring the implementation of this measure. “This measure was taken to protect the children. We call on all public transport operators to fully fulfill their mission,” stated Todisoa Andriamampandry, Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training.
Access to the buses is subject to certain conditions. Candidates must present their exam convocation. Each candidate may be accompanied by only one adult. The transport is entirely free, and the vehicles will be identified with the label “EXAMENS,” clarified the Minister of National Education, Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison.
To support families, public gardens in Anosy, Ambohijatovo, Analakely, and Antaninarenina will also be open to accommodate candidates and their accompanying adults. “This initiative aims to ensure a welcoming space for candidates so they can review and eat their meals in complete safety,” emphasized Feno Ralambomanana.
