Young researchers are attending the 2nd interregional colloquium on Substantive Democracy, Governance of the Living, and Sustainability in the Indian Ocean Islands at the Radisson Blu, held yesterday and today. They are discussing and sharing experiences with public decision-makers, representatives of cooperation institutions, field actors, and civil society regarding the democratic and environmental challenges specific to the region.
The colloquium aims to provide a space for reflection and experience sharing to strengthen multi-actor dialogue among researchers, public decision-makers, cooperation institution representatives, field actors, and civil society. “This colloquium is intended to be a space for reflection, perspective-taking, and experience sharing to strengthen interactions between researchers, decision-makers, and leaders of civil society organizations,” stated Dr. Randianina Radilofe, coordinator of the Indian Ocean Laboratory at the Foundation for Innovation in Democracy, during the opening of the colloquium yesterday.
This event, organized by the Foundation for Innovation in Democracy through its Indian Ocean Laboratory, follows the first edition held in March 2025. Its theme is “Substantive Democracy, Governance of the Living, and Sustainability in the Indian Ocean Islands.”
