A new salary scale is now in effect. The Urban Commune of Antsiranana has announced an increase in the housing allowance granted to its employees. Following the adoption of the proposal by the Municipal Council, this allowance will now range between 50,000 and 65,000 Ariary, depending on the staff category.
Previously, the housing allowance for employees of the Urban Commune of Antsiranana stood at 14,000 Ariary. As part of this revaluation, it will be set at 50,000 Ariary for directors, 55,000 Ariary for department heads, 60,000 Ariary for office managers, and 65,000 Ariary for executive staff. These new amounts will be integrated into salaries starting in September.
This decision comes in the context of the national revaluation of housing allowances for state agents, decentralized territorial collectivities, and public institutions. For agents paid from the general state budget, the amount has been increased to 200,000 Ariary. However, for agents paid from the own budgets of decentralized territorial collectivities, the amount may be set by the deliberative body of the collectivity, depending on its financial capacity.
In Antsiranana, the chosen scale remains below the 200,000 Ariary ceiling and takes into account the different categories of municipal agents. In the Urban Commune of Antananarivo, housing allowances have been set at 64,000 Ariary for all staff.
