AMBOHITSOA – Family denounces a heinous murder

Nirinasoa Caelah Nomenjanahary was assassinated at her home in Ambohitsoa. According to her devastated family, her body bore multiple stab wounds.

A tragedy occurred on Monday morning in the Ankazolava district of Ambohitsoa, in the capital’s second arrondissement. Nirinasoa Caelah Nomenjanahary, 32, known as Nirina and a mother to a 3-year-old boy, was found gravely injured at her residence. She later succumbed to her wounds.

Upon being rushed to the HJRA (Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona Hospital), doctors confirmed that the incident was not a fall, as initially claimed by her in-laws, but a homicide. “It was not a fall, it was a murder; there are clear signs of stab wounds,” a doctor stated to the family.

Pauline, the victim’s sister, recounted being alerted by phone and rushing to Nirina’s home. She explained that early witnesses hesitated to take her to the hospital despite her critical state.

“I found my sister lying motionless on her bed, unable to move. They claimed she had fallen, but the injuries were too severe,” she testified. According to Pauline, Nirina suffered from an existing medical condition that prevented her from standing up unassisted. Doctors discovered multiple wounds on her neck, hands, and back, alongside mutilations to her face and ears. “It was an unbearable sight,” Pauline added.

Another sister, Jeanne Razafindramaho, confirmed that she has filed a formal complaint against unknown persons.

“If she had fallen, she would not have had so many injuries. Police and doctors clearly stated it was a murder,” she explained. Currently, no arrests have been made. Nirina’s husband was at work at the time of the incident, while their child was with the sister-in-law who usually cared for the victim.

The body of Nirinasoa Caelah Nomenjanahary will be transported to Amboasary Atsimo. The family is waiting for the police investigation to shed light on this atrocious crime. In the neighborhood, the shock is absolute. Neighbors claimed to have heard no suspicious noises and observed no unusual behavior.

For her loved ones, the case cannot go unanswered. “We want truth and justice for Nirina,” repeated the family, who hope authorities will quickly determine the exact circumstances of the murder and identify those responsible.
