“These premises must be clean and well-arranged, and all those who carry out an activity around the bus station to earn a living will also be able to pay their taxes.” The President of the Refoundation, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, intends to extend the sanitation process of bus stations to related economic and commercial activities. He called for better organization and formalization of these activities during a meeting with various economic actors who operated at Fasan’ny Karana this Sunday.
Listening to the concerns of those who say they lost their jobs and livelihoods after the transfer of the bus station to Amoronakona, the Head of State mentioned several avenues that would allow them to continue their activities in a more organized framework. The construction of standardized commercial stalls is one of the solutions envisaged. These spaces could accommodate activities related to the life of the station, while offering a better-arranged environment for merchants and travelers.
The President of the Refoundation also insisted on the need to keep the premises clean and to allow those who work there to fulfill their tax obligations. According to him, the organization of the new station must also put an end to the disorder observed around travelers and their luggage. “Disorder and jostling around travelers’ luggage are no longer acceptable,” he warned. “We want the bus station to meet standards and for all those who live there in Amoronakona to benefit from a peaceful and organized living environment,” he added.
However, the implementation of these improvements still requires the identification of available spaces in Amoronakona. A field visit with the concerned officials is announced to determine the locations likely to accommodate the various infrastructures. “It remains necessary to go to the field in Amoronakona, with the officials concerned, in order to identify the locations where all these improvements can be carried out,” the presidency’s statement emphasized, reporting the words of Colonel Michaël Randrianirina.
The Head of State also calls for strengthening dialogue with local officials and actors to avoid misunderstandings and facilitate the reorganization of activities around the new station. Finally, financial aid was given to those affected by the loss of their activity at the end of the meeting. This measure constitutes an immediate response, while the modalities for the development and formalization of activities in Amoronakona remain to be specified.
