From Madagascar to Paris, Kiady Ratovoson continues to make his mark in the world of design. Following his success in Milan and London, the Malagasy creator is continuing his international journey with a new selection for Paris. The independent designer and interior architect, founder of KR.Atelier, is among the 225 candidates selected to participate in Paris Design Week 2026, which will be held from September 10 to 19 in various locations across the French capital.
The event will bring together hundreds of participants in galleries, showrooms, workshops, and other spaces dedicated to design. From September 10 to 14, the programming will run in parallel with the Maison&Objet trade fair, before the Paris Design Week tours continue until September 19 throughout Paris.
Among the highlights, the Paris Design Week Factory, from September 10 to 14, will showcase more than 150 emerging designers in four galleries, notably in the Marais district. The 2026 edition will be structured around four themes: Collectible, Edition, Craft, and a section dedicated to China.
For Kiady Ratovoson, this new selection comes after several international experiences. He previously presented his work at Milan Design Week and the London Design Festival. In March 2026, he was also selected among 40 international designers for an exhibition at the French Design Gallery in Paris.
This time, the Malagasy designer will present two pieces in the heart of the Marais as part of Paris Design Week, providing a new international showcase for his creations developed from Madagascar.
His work is deeply rooted in Madagascar. Trained between Shanghai and Milan, Kiady Ratovoson chose to return home to develop KR.Atelier. There, he imagines pieces at the crossroads of furniture, sculpture, and art.
According to a statement, his creations are designed in Madagascar and crafted with local artisans. Wood, reclaimed wood, sisal, and wild silk become the raw materials for a contemporary language, where the object transcends its simple function to take on an artistic dimension.
With this new Parisian milestone, Kiady Ratovoson continues his development on the international stage while highlighting creations anchored in Malagasy materials and craftsmanship.
