A soldier from the Morondava Infantry Battalion succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a bullet fired by dahalo (cattle rustlers) on Sunday evening in Ankavandra. The 27-year-old S1C Andriatsiferana Berto Alex had just completed a mission in the locality when he was targeted. Seriously wounded in the neck, he passed away.
