TECHNOLOGY – Digital professions in the spotlight

Vocational training is evolving alongside the needs of the labor market. In Madagascar, Orange Madagascar and the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training (METFP) have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen digital skills and improve the employability of youth and women. The agreement was signed by Aminata Ndiaye Niang, CEO of Orange Madagascar, and Dr. Todisoa Manampy Andriamampandry, Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training.

The goal is to better align training programs with the realities of the professional world. The rapid evolution of digital technology is changing job roles and creating new requirements for job seekers. The partnership includes the design of training curricula and content adapted to digital professions, as well as the development of pathways more oriented toward professional practice.

For beneficiaries, the challenge goes beyond acquiring technical knowledge. It is also about possessing skills that can be leveraged in job hunting or entrepreneurial projects. Bridges to employment and entrepreneurship are to be developed as part of this collaboration. Certification training programs may also be established, and subject to necessary approvals, some may lead to diplomas.

The METFP will provide the institutional framework necessary for the recognition of training, in accordance with national standards and procedures. For its part, Orange Madagascar will mobilize its expertise in digital technology, innovation, skills development, and employability.

This initiative will also rely on the company’s ecosystem. Orange Digital Center Madagascar will participate in the development of digital skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Orange Solidarité Madagascar will contribute to actions related to the inclusion, integration, and empowerment of youth and women.
