ASSOCIATIVE LIFE – LIONS CLUB ANTANANARIVO ILOHASINA – Michaela Rakotoarivelo takes the reins

On June 7, 2026, the Lions Club Antananarivo Ilohasina held its traditional gavel handover ceremony. Effective July 1, 2026, Lion Michaela Rakotoarivelo will assume the presidency of the club for a one-year term, succeeding Lion Rina Robson.

The new president intends to continue the initiatives launched in the fight against childhood cancer, particularly through support for sick children and their families, awareness campaigns, and fundraising efforts.

Another major priority is youth. Convinced that education is an essential lever for development, Michaela Rakotoarivelo aims to strengthen initiatives in favor of young people.

“Youth is the future of our community. By investing in their education, we plant a seed of hope for tomorrow,” she stated.

The mandate’s program focuses on three key pillars:

– Supporting academic success through donations of school supplies, the promotion of reading, and mentorship;

– Encouraging civic responsibility, leadership, and environmental engagement;

– Promoting the health and well-being of young people through preventive actions, hygiene initiatives, and healthy eating awareness.

The ceremony was also marked by the induction of three new members and the awarding of the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow distinction to a highly committed Lion.

Guided by the motto “We Serve,” this gavel handover marks a new chapter for the Lions Club Antananarivo Ilohasina, which intends to pursue its commitment to serving the community with dynamism and solidarity.
