Ivato Airport: Civil Aviation Authority strengthens service quality

The Civil Aviation of Madagascar (ACM) is committed to improving service quality at Ivato Airport. Key areas under review include passenger complaints and access control to restricted zones.

Following feedback from the Ministry of Transport and Meteorology regarding air transport and airport services, the ACM convened about fifteen sector stakeholders on Friday, September 11, in Ivato. The goal is to address passenger concerns and enhance the overall travel experience.

ACM Director General Faniry Alban Rakotoarisoa stated that the meeting focused on passenger respect, the handling of high-level officials, and the assistance provided to unaccompanied minors. Reports of inappropriate behavior, such as solicitation of money and staff appearing under the influence of alcohol, were also discussed. The ACM emphasized that only verified complaints will be subject to disciplinary action.

The meeting also clarified the distinct roles of various airport entities, stressing that while each has unique responsibilities, they must work complementarily. Furthermore, the ACM plans to tighten access to restricted areas by improving badge training and limiting entry to authorized personnel only. The authority encourages travelers to report incidents to ensure accountability and continuous service improvement.
