No victories. The two Malagasy judokas representing Madagascar at the Lausanne Grand Slam in Switzerland were eliminated in their very first bouts.
Exempted from the first round in the -70 kg category, Paris Olympian Aina Laura Rasoanaivo, ranked 19th in the world, was defeated in the round of 32 by 27-year-old Briton Kelly Petersen Pollard. The latter, ranked 32nd in the world, won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on July 31, as well as the silver medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam in 2025.
Alice Amoussatou Randrianjohany, a 20-year-old expatriate based in France, also failed to advance past the round of 32. Competing in the -78 kg category, she lost to 24-year-old Dutch judoka Yael Van Heem. The Malagasy athlete, ranked 28th in the world among juniors, was unable to overcome an opponent who holds the 33rd world ranking and who secured gold at the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam in mid-May, following a silver medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam earlier that month.
