The disciplinary council of the University of Toliara has reviewed the irregularities noted during the 2026 Baccalaureate examinations in the former Toliara province. Eighty cases were recorded, ranging from phone-related fraud, general cheating, twelve cases of duplication, twelve cases of candidate substitution, threats or lack of respect, and two cases of disruption.
Fraudulent candidates face a five-year ban from taking the exam; substitutions and duplications are also subject to a five-year ban, while cases of disrespect result in a two-year suspension from the Baccalaureate. “Any teacher found responsible for awarding grades that do not correspond to reality will no longer be allowed to serve as a member of the Baccalaureate jury,” the disciplinary council’s note stated.
A case involving seven individuals arrested at a house located on the Maninday campus was also examined. Three students enrolled at the University of Toliara, one former student, and three outsiders are involved. A final warning has been issued to them, and any recurrence will lead to their permanent expulsion from the university and the loss of their student status. An illicit structure erected on campus is subject to demolition, and the student involved faces expulsion from the institution.
