The countdown has begun for Miss Madagascar 2026. The grand national final will be held this Saturday in Antananarivo. At the end of this evening, the winner will represent Madagascar at the 74th edition of Miss World, scheduled to take place in Tanzania in May 2027.
Preparations are already underway by the Miss Madagascar Committee (CMM), in collaboration with its various partners. Logistically, Madazon Logistics will notably handle the air transport for the future winner on her journey to the international competition. In Antananarivo, a major hotel establishment will also host the candidates during the preparation activities and the grand final.
The selection process continues to strengthen its regional roots. To date, 14 of Madagascar’s 24 regions are represented, in addition to the Malagasy diaspora. For regions not yet represented, a new selection phase based on applications will open starting Thursday, September 17. The CMM intends to make regional diversity a central element of the pageant, allowing young women to showcase their territory, history, and culture on the national stage.
“This approach aims to enable young women from different regions of the country to bring their territory, history, and culture to the national stage,” explains Christelle Rakotoniaina, President of the Miss Madagascar Committee. The CMM is also working on establishing and supporting regional committees to ensure the pageant is sustainably integrated into a dynamic of proximity and representation of Malagasy diversity. It also hopes to mobilize partners who share this vision to support this initiative and make this edition a showcase for the youth and potential of Madagascar.
