Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a young girl in Sahatavy. The child was found safe and sound after six days of searching.
Twelve individuals were arrested by the Gendarmerie regarding the abduction of a girl in Sahatavy, in the Vavatenina district. Five suspects were apprehended in Ambatondrazaka and seven others in Vavatenina. Ten of them have confessed to the charges, while the other two remain under investigation.
The girl, who was abducted from her home on August 29 in Sahatavy, has been reunited with her family safe and sound.
The search lasted six days. The child was located by authorities in Ambatondrazaka, in a house situated in Ambohimahasoa, Tanandava commune. She is in good health thanks to the collaboration between the Gendarmerie and the fokonolona (local community), under the leadership of Colonel Zavamanantsoa Emma Rakotondravony and Captain Jhoharison Ramarojaonina.
The arrested individuals are currently in detention awaiting further legal proceedings. The collaboration between the Gendarmerie and the fokonolona was highly praised, as it allowed for the swift resolution of this kidnapping case.
