The bodies of the four suspects in the murder of Haingotiana Rasamison and Stéphanie Nohasoavina, which had been held at the HJRA hospital morgue since Saturday morning, have been released to their families. Three bodies were collected late Monday, while the last one was released yesterday morning.
The suspects involved are 18-year-old Aldo from Ambohitrimanjaka, 20-year-old Larry from Ambodin’Isotry, 17-year-old Fanomezantsoa from 67 Ha, and 23-year-old Sitrakin’ny Avo from Itaosy. At this stage, only the burial site for one of them has been confirmed, which is in Fianarantsoa, according to a colleague.
The autopsies were conducted in the presence of the families. The examination was ordered by requisition to establish the circumstances of death. Following the procedure, the relatives were able to proceed with the release of the bodies.
The execution of these four alleged perpetrators of the double murder continues to spark debate within the legal community. Lawyers have expressed concerns regarding the authority of the justice system and the respect for fundamental rights, including the presumption of innocence, the right to a defense, and the right to a fair trial, which are considered essential for the truth to be established.
