Uncertified electronic scales are gaining ground in the market. “Many merchants are selling non-standard equipment,” warned an official from Simex-CI, a company specializing in weighing in Madagascar, yesterday.
The use of these non-compliant devices can distort measurements by displaying values higher or lower than the actual weight. “This practice, which directly misleads users, remains strictly prohibited by law,” the source added.
Simex-CI will offer weighing solutions at the IN-CO Industry & Commerce fair, organized by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Civil Service and Flash Event, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Industrialization and Private Sector Development as well as the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. The event will be held at the Barea Mahamasina Stadium on August 20, 21, and 22. On this occasion, the company will offer a free diagnostic as well as a discount on repair labor.
