MISS WORLD – The Miss Madagascar Committee withdraws from the 2026 edition

The Miss Madagascar Committee has chosen not to participate in Miss World 2026 in order to prepare a stronger and better-supported representative for the 2027 edition.

A new chapter is beginning for Madagascar’s international representation. The Miss Madagascar Committee (CMM) announced today its decision not to present a candidate for the Miss World 2026 international pageant. This carefully considered choice aims to allocate more time and resources to in-depth preparation, allowing Madagascar’s next representative to carry the country’s colors with a strong identity and a better showcase of its cultural richness.

For the CMM, representing the country on the international stage goes beyond a beauty pageant. It is an opportunity to promote Madagascar by highlighting its human assets, cultural diversity, values of solidarity, and the hopeful initiatives led by its representatives, in line with the ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ concept.

Since 2012, five representatives have defended Madagascar’s colors at Miss World. Building on this experience, the Committee now aims to build a more coherent and impactful participation. The CMM will launch preparations for the Miss Madagascar 2027 national edition in August, with a call for applications for an experienced communication and event agency to manage the grand finale.

Applications for the agency will be open from Monday, August 3 to Saturday, August 22, 2026. Through this process, the Committee reaffirms its commitment to relaunching the national contest under the best conditions to prepare a representative capable of proudly carrying Madagascar’s image to Miss World 2027.
