At just 17 years old, Eric Justin is emerging as one of the great hopes for Malagasy sprinting. As a double Madagascar champion in the 100m and 200m in 2026, the COSPN Analamanga athlete already harbors great ambitions.
Born on December 13, 2008, Eric Justin continues his ascent on Malagasy tracks. The young sprinter from COSPN Analamanga once again left his mark on the national youth championships, which concluded on Sunday at the Alarobia track. By achieving a double in the 100m and 200m, he confirms his status as a benchmark among the youth. Since his cadet category days, he has been racking up national titles and now boasts four Madagascar championship crowns.
However, his path was not predetermined. Before choosing athletics, Eric Justin tried football and then handball. Lacking playing time, he finally decided to change course. “I turned to athletics and found my calling. Since 2024, I have been winning Madagascar championship titles one after another,” he recounts.
The third of five children, he is the only one in his family to practice this discipline. Supported by his loved ones, he trains with the goal of pushing his limits. Having clocked 21.60 seconds in the 200m in 2024 and 10.5 seconds in the 100m in 2025, he continues to progress despite a time of 10.9 seconds this season.
His sights are now set on the 2027 Indian Ocean Island Games. Beyond a medal, Eric Justin also dreams of joining the ranks of the National Police. “I want to build my future in athletics and become a police officer within the COSPN,” the young champion affirms.
