A strong start. Six matches were on the schedule for the first day of the national beach soccer championship, held alongside the Mazavaloha festival yesterday on the beach of Manakara. Pangalane Beach Mananjary has climbed to the top of Group A, securing 6 points after two opening victories.
The Atsimo-Atsinanana team defeated FC Bagdad from Atsinanana 6-1, then narrowly beat AS V7V Manakara 5-4. The host team corrected their course and subsequently defeated Kidabo from Melaky 3-2. After their initial loss, FC Bagdad convincingly beat FC Kidabo 11-3. In Group B, AS FAJ from Atsimo-Andrefana won 8-3 against FC BF from Farafangana. Meanwhile, the Menabe selection crushed FC BF with a landslide score of 10-1. The group stage will continue until Saturday, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for Sunday.
