Construction work for the new flyover is set to begin this Friday, with an official ceremony expected to cause traffic disruptions in Anosizato.
The Ministry of Public Works announced a partial traffic interruption on this axis from 1:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, to 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Initially, the ministry planned to close the dike road from the Anosipatrana intersection to the Anosizato bridge, but this notice was later removed from social media to allow for a revised traffic management plan.
Authorities, including the Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA), the Land Transport Agency (ATT), and the National Police, are working to minimize inconvenience for road users. A final traffic plan is expected to be released shortly.
The official launch ceremony, scheduled for Friday, July 31, at 5:00 PM, requires these temporary measures for site security and stage setup. Minister of Public Works, Dr. Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana, reassured the public that the construction itself will not block traffic, as a temporary metallic bridge will be installed to support the existing structure.
Furthermore, the ministry confirmed that the compensation fund for expropriated residents was opened on July 27, 2026, ensuring that affected individuals will be compensated before vacating their properties.
