ROCK – Three Thousand Fans Celebrate at the Ultimate Show

Nearly three thousand enthusiasts vibrated for five hours yesterday at the Barea Mahamasina Stadium for an anniversary concert themed around sharing and unity. A human tide of nearly three thousand fans flooded the Barea Mahamasina Stadium to celebrate Malagasy rock in all its diversity. The Ultimate Show, organized by Garage Mozika Production, marked the structure’s five-year anniversary with a clear ambition: to provide a major popular event dedicated to musical quality and intergenerational connection.

On stage, three iconic bands delivered a five-hour live performance that extended into the night as the atmosphere remained intense and public demand stayed high. Mage 4, Iraimbilanja, and Rheg The Gang performed their greatest hits and signature tracks, including ‘Na dia maizina’ by Mage 4 and ‘Antsika ny Rock’ by Rheg The Gang, alternating with cross-band covers in an electric and festive atmosphere. The audience, diverse and drawn from various regions, responded massively, confirming that rock remains a unifying genre that demands high quality.

According to Rado Ramamonjisoa, the event’s success exceeded expectations: ‘We expected half, but ultimately doubled our overall goal,’ he summarized, satisfied with the strong turnout. He also emphasized the project’s purpose: ‘A celebration designed as a popular gathering, held in a larger space to allow the public to fully experience the festivities.’

The spirit of the Ultimate Show was rooted in sharing. The song ‘Ifampizarana’ by Mage 4 served as a central theme, illustrating this message of unity. On stage, the groups exchanged their repertoires: Rheg The Gang performed a title by Iraimbilanja, Mage 4 covered a song by Rheg The Gang, and a Mage 4 piece was performed collectively.

The concert was also marked by a surprise performance by Lija, while the musical component was enriched by the participation of musicians such as Rolf and Andry Ramamonjisoa on guitar, among other instrumentalists, reinforcing the collaborative dimension of the show.

Beyond the performance, the event carried a strong message of cohesion between musical genres. ‘There is sometimes a separation between rock and metal, but here, they share the same stage,’ Rado Ramamonjisoa noted, highlighting the desire for artistic reconciliation.

Founded five years ago, Garage Mozika is both a production house and a cultural space based in 67 Ha. With this Ultimate Show, it confirms its role as a driving force in promoting inclusive Malagasy rock, with a follow-up event already announced for next year.
