IT – Youth develop a passion for cybersecurity

Young people are showing a great interest in cybersecurity. Many attended the National Cybersecurity Symposium 2026, held at Novotel Alarobia on June 22 and 23. “We are witnessing a real enthusiasm among the youth, who remained engaged from start to finish,” expressed Éric Rakotomaniraka, Director General of the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) Madagascar, during the event’s closing.

These two days of learning allowed them to gain deeper insights into cybersecurity. “In school, our courses often remain very theoretical. This event was a tremendous opportunity for us students, as it truly enabled us to put our skills into practice and unleash our potential,” shared Rakotondramparany, a third-year telecommunications student at the École supérieure polytechnique d’Antananarivo (ESPA).

Several talents were discovered during the symposium’s hackathon. Among them was the SFYRISEC team from the École nationale d’informatique (ENI) in Fianarantsoa, who won first prize with their ‘Aro’ project. It is an innovative solution combining artificial intelligence and digital security, designed to protect digital Madagascar. “Madagascan talent exists. Let’s give them the means to flourish,” noted CIRT Madagascar.
