PARADE – Defense and Security Forces showcase their expertise

As part of the celebrations for the 66th anniversary of Madagascar’s Independence, the defense and security forces held a dynamic demonstration at the Maki Stadium in Andohatapenaka on Saturday. Organized by the National Technical Organizing Committee (CTNO), the event provided the public with a glimpse into the skills and missions carried out by the Armed Forces.

Although the demonstration began behind schedule, the performance impressed the spectators in attendance. “Despite the timing, I was personally very satisfied. The parachute jump was the part I enjoyed the most,” one spectator commented.

Capabilities

This event, now in its second edition, highlighted several disciplines, notably parachute jumps by specialized units, as well as tactical demonstrations by the K9 units of the National Gendarmerie and the National Police.

For over an hour, participants showcased some of the operational capabilities of the defense and security forces to the public. “These are only a few examples of what actually exists, as missions on the ground are much more extensive. This demonstration only serves to show a fraction of their expertise,” explained Commander Rindra Rakotondrazafy, Deputy Chief of the Operations Office of the First Parachute Battalion.

Regarding the connection to the June 26th National Day, the officer clarified that this activity was planned in advance to streamline organization and adhere to the general schedule of festivities. “This demonstration was scheduled ahead of time to better manage timing and logistics. It remains independent from the official June 26th ceremony,” he emphasized.
