SHOW – Tosy reunites with Che Bel Canto

Staying true to the Che Bel Canto concept, which she has participated in several times, Tosy will return to the stage at the Mahamasina Sports Palace alongside Ry Kiala Vazo and Monika (Njava) to revisit the repertoire of Samoela.

Tosy is reconnecting with Che Bel Canto once again. On Sunday, November 22, starting at 3:00 PM, the singer will participate in this musical gathering organized as part of the Madadiaspora Forum, which celebrates the first anniversary of the digital platform dedicated to the Malagasy diaspora worldwide.

The audience will be able to rediscover Samoela’s songs through the interpretations of Tosy, Ry Kiala Vazo, and Monika. Unique duets with the artist are also announced, while some songs by the three guest performers will also be featured. It is a way to blend repertoires and create a dialogue between different musical universes.

This participation reflects her dedication to the concept, in which Tosy has taken part multiple times. In 2006, she shared the stage with Tovo J’Hay. In 2018, she participated in Che Bel Canto Mahaleo alongside Bodo, Nanie, and Inah to perform the classics of the group Mahaleo. In March 2026, she returned for Che Bel Canto 2.0 at the Sports Palace to celebrate the return of the concept and Tovo J’Hay’s 25-year career. The November edition marks a new milestone in her journey with this musical event.

Her regular presence is part of a career shaped by passion, though punctuated by a break dedicated to her family. Born Tosimamy Nantenaina Rakotonandrasana, Tosy is a self-taught artist who grew up in a family where music played a significant role. Trained notably at Pazzapa RTA, she draws inspiration from various genres, ranging from gospel and rhythm and blues to rock and roll and bagasy.

At one point in her life, the singer chose to put her career on hold to focus on her four children. She describes this period as a source of happiness: “The honor of being the mother of my four children and the wife of a true pillar who supports me tooth and nail in my passion for music. I chose, at one point, to set aside my second profession to dedicate myself to my children and accompany their steps.” This family hiatus did not erase her passion for music. Today, she is gradually returning to the stage and preparing new creations, including ‘Matokisa,’ a song accompanied on the piano by her eldest daughter.

Created in 2004, Che Bel Canto invites artists to reinterpret the repertoire of a main artist according to their own vocal and musical sensibilities. For this edition, Samoela will be the guest of honor. According to Jaobarison Zakamanarivo Randrianarivony, an organizer at Phenix Agency: “The singer had never participated in this concept before.”
