The Minister of Economy and Finance is strengthening transparency with 24-hour reports, weekly reviews, and sanctions.
Faced with the transparency requirements set as a priority by the executive branch, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Herinjatovo Aimé Ramiarison, gathered his teams on October 24 in Anosy to demand increased commitment from every agent.
The fight against corruption is not just a principle; it is a sine qua non condition for preserving state resources. This was the strong message delivered by Dr. Herinjatovo Aimé Ramiarison to the officials and agents of his department during this framing meeting. In a sector where resources fund vital areas such as health, education, and infrastructure, irregularities and embezzlement directly weigh on the effectiveness of public action and the daily lives of citizens.
To ensure that directives are translated into action, the ministry is setting new organizational milestones. Each general directorate is now invited to increase internal exchanges and quickly formulate concrete proposals. Above all, a detailed weekly report on the situation and actions taken must be submitted by each department.
Another key provision of this meeting is responsiveness to malfunctions. Agents are instructed to report without delay any event likely to affect the proper functioning of the service. These alerts must be formalized by an official written report within a maximum of 24 hours. The Minister recalled it unambiguously: sanctions will apply to those involved in acts of corruption, but also to those who fail to respect internal directives.
While rigor is required from everyone, support remains in place. Dr. Herinjatovo Aimé Ramiarison reaffirmed his willingness to support and protect honest agents in the performance of their duties, while calling for a strengthened mobilization of existing complaint reception mechanisms.
The effectiveness of this initiative will ultimately depend on the regularity of controls and the effective application of measures. For the financial administration, the stakes are high: to durably transform commitments into concrete practices to consolidate citizens’ trust in institutions.
