The 2026 Madagascar Road Cycling Championship brought together 63 participants from various clubs and regions on Sunday. The riders competed in three categories: elite, junior, and women. In the elite category, Houlder Mohamed, from COSPN Analamanga, emerged victorious after a demanding 133.97 km race.
The race started in Ambodisaha Fenoarivo for a round trip towards Miarinarivo. Houlder Mohamed completed the course in 3 hours, 52 minutes, and 30 seconds after a highly contested race.
The COSPN rider finished ahead of Thony from the ACCLI club, while Tovonay from Toliara completed the podium.
This title also rewards the collective effort of COSPN. The new champion thanked the management, his coach, and his teammates for their support.
“My advantage perhaps lies in the experience gained abroad, notably at the Tour of Mauritius, the Tour of Reunion, and during several local races in Mauritius with the KFC Faucon Flacq Cycling Team,” he confided.
Now crowned champion of Madagascar, Houlder Mohamed is looking ahead to his next international challenges: the World Championships and the African Championships.
