Anti-Corruption Pole: Complaints against former officials referred to the High Constitutional Court

In a statement released yesterday, the Anti-Corruption Pole (PAC) reported that it has received complaints targeting several former officials, including Andry Rajoelina and Christian Ntsay. The proceedings are provisionally suspended pending a decision from the High Constitutional Court (HCC) regarding the court’s jurisdiction.

The PAC announced the suspension of judicial proceedings related to complaints filed by the Directorate of Legislation and Litigation (DLC). The complaints involve three main cases, including the alleged embezzlement of 36 kilograms of gold from the Ministry of Mines and Strategic Resources, involving former Prime Minister Christian Ntsay and former Minister Fidiniavo Ravokatra.

A second complaint concerns suspected embezzlement in the procurement of school furniture, naming former President Andry Rajoelina, Christian Ntsay, and former Minister of National Education Marie Michelle Sahondrarimalala. A third complaint relates to the management of the sovereign wealth fund, also involving former Minister of Economy and Finance Rindra Hasimbelo Rabarinirinarison.

The PAC has referred the matter to the HCC to determine its competence to hear these cases, given the status of the individuals involved. The court stated that it transmitted the relevant documents to the HCC on October 6.
