Basta Lion has taken the gold. At the conclusion of the second edition of the Afromada Music Awards, held Saturday evening in Ambodivona, the Malagasy artist won the Afromada Gold Prize 2026 with 60.13% of the votes. This distinction recognizes his position in the musical landscape and marks a highlight for the urban scene.

Founded and directed by N’Guessan Koffi Toussaint, also known as Dr. Falafala, the Afromada Music Awards aim to become a major event for African music. This second edition highlights artists from the continent and the Indian Ocean, with a notable place given to Malagasy talents.
