INSPIRATION FOR YOUTH – Danil Ismail promotes agribusiness

Billionaire Danil Ismail, CEO of Inviso Group, visited Toliara last weekend. He participated in a humanitarian mission with the Indian Ocean Doctors, which provided free health consultations in the ‘City of the Sun’ for ten days. At the invitation of the Young Employers of Madagascar (JPM), Toliara branch, Danil Ismail delivered a lecture to students at the University of Toliara. He shared his personal journey, starting from his early days at the SMTP company and his humble beginnings living in the Isotry neighborhood while launching his first entrepreneurial projects.

“After nearly forty years in entrepreneurship across various sectors, I encourage you, the youth, to turn towards agribusiness and agricultural processing. It is an essential economic lever. We must think about feeding a population that will reach 50 million by 2050. We must stop importing, because everything we need is right here,” he told the students, speaking with a touch of southern accent mixed with French. He noted that he lived in Toliara in the distant past and continues to contribute to the region’s development.

“If I had to start from scratch, I would choose agribusiness without hesitation.” He emphasized the importance of developing cooperatives, a structure that allows the state to provide financial support for agricultural projects. When asked about his political ambitions, Danil Ismail replied that he has none. “I will not run for fokontany chief, mayor, or anything else, and certainly not for President of the Republic!” he concluded.
