Accompanied by a dozen musicians, Lalatiana revisited her repertoire yesterday at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina. Three guests shared the stage with her, featuring duets, instrumental arrangements, and iconic songs.
Over three hours of music, reunions, and songs sung in unison by the audience. Yesterday, at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina, Lalatiana revisited several stages of her career, accompanied by a dozen musicians and three male guests: Solo Andrianasolo, Ravo Rabaonarison, and her brother, Haingo Rajaofara. Organized by Miritsoka, the concert highlighted the richness of her repertoire and the diversity of her musical influences.
The guitar played a central role in the duets, emphasizing the complementarity of the artists. Ravo Rabaonarison performed ‘Tsotra ihany ny hira’, a track written by the singer’s father, Albert Rajaofara. The second part featured Haingo Rajaofara, Lalatiana’s brother and former backing vocalist for Poopy, performing tracks like ‘Tsiaro anao’ and ‘Misy Antony’.
In her solo segments, Lalatiana alternated between old hits and recent tracks. The performance of ‘Nofy’, composed in 1988, was a highlight of the evening, with the audience singing along in chorus. At 62, Lalatiana, who has been performing since age 11, continues to bridge generations with a blend of Highland traditional music, contemporary jazz, and acoustic variety.
