No victories in two days. The two teams from the Great Island at the Zone 7 Round 2 beach volleyball championship in Comoros have each recorded three defeats in as many matches. In the women’s category, Holiarisoa Andriamihasoa Ravonintseheno and Jessie Ralaivahoaka were defeated 0-2 (13/21, 17/21) by Mauritians Paul and Joanitta on Thursday at Itsandra Mdjini beach. The Malagasy pair subsequently lost to the Seychellois duo Adeline and Dania, 0-2 (13/21, 9/21). Yesterday, the women’s team lost 0-2 against the Réunionese pair Maelys and Marie.
The same scenario unfolded for the men. Robsell Thierry Antoine and Jerry Arnaud Razakandrainy struggled to start the competition. The duo Thierry-Jerry conceded 0-2 (18/21, 18/21) against Alfred Gilbert and Doobiaz from Mauritius before losing 0-2 to the Seychellois pair Ernesta-Lozaique (16/21, 11/21). Yesterday, the Thierry-Jerry duo was no match for the Comorian hosts Naguib and Alonzo (0-2). The competition will proceed to the third day this Saturday, with the final phase taking place on Sunday.
