A collision involving four vehicles resulted in four deaths and several injuries yesterday around 1:10 PM in Andranotapahana. An investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident.
The tragedy occurred at Andoharano, on the road connecting Andranotapahana to the Don Bosco district. According to initial reports, two white Toyota pickups traveling from Andranotapahana toward Ivato airport collided head-on with a Peugeot 405 coming from the opposite direction. A white Renault Express, also coming from Ivato, was caught in the chain reaction.
According to the Talatamaty gendarmerie, the two occupants of the Renault Express were injured. The Peugeot 405 carried four people; three died on the spot, while the fourth succumbed to injuries shortly after being evacuated to the Andranomena Lutheran Hospital.
The Peugeot 405 was completely destroyed, and debris littered the road. Law enforcement and emergency responders worked to extract the victims trapped in the wreckage. The criminal investigation unit of the regional public security directorate is conducting a thorough inquiry, examining potential factors such as speeding, mechanical failure, or driver fatigue. Further details regarding the identities of the victims will be released at a later time.
