GOOD GOVERNANCE – Civil society demands greater transparency

A meeting dedicated to the development of the national partnership plan for open government was held at La Résidence, in Ankerana. This initiative comes as Madagascar does not yet meet all the conditions required by the international framework for good governance and has not reached the indicators set to improve the management of public affairs.

Representatives of civil society participated in this workshop and insisted on the need to ensure transparency in order to facilitate the monitoring of public actions. Several issues were addressed, including the openness of the administration to disseminating information about its activities, as well as citizen participation in the management of public affairs.

The Minister in charge of Reform, Hanitra Razafimanantsoa, was among the figures who supported the development of this plan. During the opening of the workshop, she emphasized that “the political will implemented to restore the population’s trust in the State is important.”
