The audience turned out in force for this 20th edition of Smooth Night. Approximately four hundred spectators, mainly from high society, attended a Friday evening dedicated to Mariah Carey. In a cabaret atmosphere, Yrinaf led this tribute under the theme ‘Mariah Carey, the voice of my childhood,’ featuring a repertoire blending the American singer’s greatest hits.
From ‘Vision of Love’ to ‘Hero,’ including ‘Always Be My Baby,’ ‘Without You,’ ‘One Sweet Day,’ ‘We Belong Together,’ and ‘Anytime You Need a Friend,’ the singer revisited several of Mariah Carey’s iconic tracks. A few Christmas songs, including ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ were also on the program. Yrinaf was accompanied by Ken, Mendryka, and Nate Tex.
Accustomed to participating in Smooth Night as a backing vocalist since 2017, Yrinaf took the spotlight as the headliner this time. A singer and solo pianist specializing in jazz, soul, and variety, she gained public recognition in 2012 through the RTA show ‘The One,’ where she placed third. In 2014, she joined the CGM Jazz Club, where she continues to perform in cabarets and concerts.
