ELECTORAL LIST – CENI registers voters at their workplaces

The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) is expanding its full electoral list renewal operations to workplaces. Following initiatives at Ambohijatovo and the Maki stadium in Andohatapenaka, agents have been visiting public offices this week to register citizens.

Led by CENI district branches, this approach specifically targets individuals who are difficult to reach at home due to their professional commitments.

“Many citizens do not have time to go to the ‘fokontany’ (neighborhood) offices to register. We have therefore implemented this method of approaching them at their workplaces. The goal is to ensure no one loses their right to fulfill their civic duty. It is also about having a reliable, accurate, and complete electoral list,” explained CENI President Thierry Rakotonarivo.

The first registrations took place at the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister’s Office, and several ministries in the capital. Operations were also conducted at the Anti-Corruption Pole (PAC) and the National School of Administration (ENAM).

Scheduled to last several weeks, this tour is expected to gradually extend to markets, public venues, and private companies. A dedicated website will also be launched to allow citizens to register online.

According to the provisional calendar, the registration process for the full renewal of the electoral list is expected to conclude at the end of November.
