COOPERATIVE – Mutual aid among producers facilitates development

The cooperative intervenes at various stages of the production chain, from collection to processing and conservation of agricultural products. It works notably with ginger, sesame, peanuts, yellow-fleshed cassava, and plantains. Some of these products are processed into flour, jam, or chips. “Coming together around a common vision is a strength. A cooperative allows for the pooling of skills and resources,” explains Rado Rakotomanalina, an official at the FID.

Furthermore, participation in commercial activities allows producers to better promote their products and explore new markets. This dynamic contributes to strengthening the value of their production and, consequently, improving economic outcomes for their families.
