Expanding one’s network, engaging with professionals, and better understanding future prospects. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Madagascar is leveraging networking to support young people in their projects and career choices during the Youth Leader Summit, organized by JCI Iarivo in Antaninarenina, which ran from Thursday to Saturday.
“Do not just be spectators of this event. Be curious, exchange with others, share your ideas, and above all, leave with new leads to create something new,” recommended Minah Rakotobe, National President of JCI Madagascar, to the participants during the opening ceremony.
Beyond training, these exchanges contribute to broadening the perspectives of young people and enriching their vision, emphasizes Minah Rakotobe. The national president recalls that connecting young people is one of JCI’s core missions. These interactions are intended to help them build projects that contribute to the development of their communities.
The initiative also addresses the difficulties some young people face in identifying opportunities and determining the steps to realize their ambitions. Direct exchanges with professionals and economic actors aim to help them better navigate their paths and strengthen their capabilities.
The Youth Leader Summit was held in parallel with the JCI National Convention, which brought together members from different regions of Madagascar. Representatives from nine regions participated in these meetings.
The Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training (METFP) supported the event. Minister Todisoa Andriamampandry reiterated that the government shares JCI’s commitment to placing youth at the heart of its priorities. He particularly emphasized strengthening youth employability as a lever for their contribution to development.
JCI is an organization for young people aged 18 to 40, with a presence in Madagascar and many countries around the world.
