23rd Rally Tour de Tana: Olivier Ramiandrisoa narrowly leads Fred Rabekoto

Motorsport enthusiasts were treated to an exciting first day at the Rally Tour de Tana yesterday in Imerinkasinina and Anjeva, with Olivier Ramiandrisoa and Fred Rabekoto dominating the field.

The competition featured a fierce duel between R4 class cars. The Mitsubishi crews have been setting the pace since the previous national round, the 19th Rally du Boeny in Mahajanga. ASACM club’s Olivier Ramiandrisoa and Mahenintsoa Randriambolona, driving a Mitsubishi Evo X, led the first day. They secured the best cumulative time, notably clocking 7:48.4 in the second special stage.

Frédéric Rabekoto and Andry Tahina Rakotomalala Andrianjafy, in a Mitsubishi Yas, won the first special stage (ES1) by a narrow margin of 0.2 seconds, but finished 4 seconds behind Olivier in the second stage. Meanwhile, the battle for third place remains intense between Subaru M12 crews, with Rado and Anja Rabenanahary currently holding the position ahead of the father-daughter duo, Tahina and Fifaliana Razafinjoelina.

Unfortunately, the championship leaders Mathieu Andrianjafy and Nathanael Young were forced to retire due to mechanical issues during the second stage. Due to security concerns, the total number of stages has been reduced to eight, and the night stage scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.
