At just 13 years old, Fitahiana Angelica Rabenomanana is preparing to present her first capsule collection under her brand, Angeli Rise, during the Youth Leader Summit on October 1st and 2nd.
Creating clothing from everyday objects is the vision of Fitahiana Angelica Rabenomanana, who is passionate about fashion and upcycling. A Grade 7 student at the Entrepreneurship Christian Education (ECE) school, she is already developing her own unique designs.
Her first capsule collection was prepared over the course of a month and will be showcased at the first international edition of the Youth Leader Summit. Fitahiana will present two creations: “The Voice of Tomorrow” and “La Métamorphose” (The Metamorphosis).
The first is an asymmetrical dress with a long train made from recycled newspapers and paper, accented with gold touches. The second utilizes black plastic from trash bags to create a high-fashion piece.
Fitahiana previously presented one of her creations last June during an academic presentation. Titled “Unstoppable Woman,” this outfit allowed her to showcase her work and her keen interest in fashion.
For the young designer, there is no need to wait to get started: “There is no perfect time to start. With ‘The Voice of Tomorrow’ and ‘La Métamorphose,’ I want to prove that our generation has the power to rewrite the codes of haute couture.”
The two Angeli Rise creations will be presented on October 1st and 2nd as part of the Youth Leader Summit. Fitahiana will also exhibit her research notebooks and sketches.
At 13, Fitahiana Angelica Rabenomanana is taking her first steps into fashion design with her own collections and an approach based notably on the reuse of materials.
