The GNVB (Gendarmerie Nationale Volleyball) enters the competition as the clear favorite. Twenty-one teams, including twelve men’s and nine women’s squads, are registered for the Madagascar Division 1 Championship, which will take place from September 26 to October 3 at the Ankorondrano gymnasium.
The Analamanga-based Gendarmerie Nationale Volleyball (GNVB) has dominated the competition in recent years, achieving a double victory by winning both the men’s and women’s national titles for the past three seasons. In 2025, the men’s final featured two GNVB teams, while Akany Sambatra Itaosy finished third after defeating COSFA in the classification match. In the women’s category, the Betongolo team defeated Analamanga’s Squad-X in the final.
The composition of the pools and the match schedule will be determined during the technical meeting scheduled for this Friday afternoon in Ankorondrano.
